The BX-Factor is a grant specifically designed to support promising local businesses that have faced challenges in securing necessary funding for growth and sustainability.

It's a competition that will showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of the Bronx. The top five applicants will be invited to participate in a pitch competition during Bronx Week for a chance to win a $10,000 cash prize.

Borough president’s office, Bronx business leaders host session on accessing state funding

 On Tuesday, July 11, the Bronx Borough President’s office, in partnership with Empire State Development (ESD) and the Bronx Economic Development Corporation (Bronx EDC), hosted an information session for local businesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofits and economic development officials on how to access ESD funding through the streamlined grant application known as the state Consolidated Funding Application (CFA).

Bronx EDC President Rob Walsh joined Deputy Bronx Borough President Janet Peguero Peguero and Rafael Roger, President of Business Initiative Corporation of New York, in presenting a $15,000 check to Rich & Claudia of Claudy’s Kitchen so they can make additional upgrades to their popular establishment. A great big thank you to Santander Bank for the very generous grant - it will go a long way in strengthening this family owned small business.

Bronx EDC and Bronx Native on yes network

Bronx EDC President Rob Walsh joined staff of The Bronx Economic Development Corporation and the YES Network to visit Amaurys and see his creative work.

Amaurys Grullon is an artist and entrepreneur based in the South Bronx. He runs the Bronx Native - a small business that enthusiastically promotes the Bronx Brand.

At this current Yankee Homestand, the YES segment is highlighting Amaurys as part of its new Bronx Beat initiative. This new initiative has been led by Brian Smith of the New York Yankees along with Blayke Scheer and Brandon Stern.
